Research Goals

March 31, 2005
We anticipate that our first
clinical study "ACUTE TREATMENT OF CTS" will be completed by
July 2005. If you wish to contribute to our ongoing research, please
feel free to contact Dr. Rahn, or make a contribution from the shopping
cart - thank you.
Currently, we are researching 4
primary topics:
1) that most people diagnosed with
carpal tunnel syndrome are actually suffering from hand / wrist swelling
that is secondary to blood vessel and nerve compression at the front of
the shoulder (called TOS or thoraco outlet syndrome),
2) that our symptom survey can be
utilized as an easy way to establish whether the hand pain / numbness /
weakness is from the neck, shoulder or hand itself,
3) that our glove is effective in
increasing carpal tunnel volume / height (taking pressure off the nerve
and decreasing pain) as well as allowing the wrist (ligaments) an
opportunity to stabilize in this desired position, &
4) that our overall treatment
protocol is effective in returning acute patients (those unable to work)
to work quickly.
